S.N.I.F. Dogs Switzerland
S.N.I.F. Dogs Switzerland ((Sniffing Noses in Finding Diseases), is a Swiss non-profit association, founded in 2019, with domicile in Belp/BE.
The Association initiates and promotes projects, whereby dogs and/or other animals are specifically trained for the purpose of detecting with their sensory organs, particularly with their noses, severe diseases at an early stage.
S.N.I.F. Dogs Switzerland’s first research study was carried out from 2020 to 2024, in partnership with the Urological Department of the University Hospital in Bern whereby dogs were precisely trained to detect odour changes in human urine samples stemming from patients suffering from bladder cancer, by discriminating them from urine from healthy people.
